The words say, "If I'm not careful, I could really crush his heart..."

Ah, angst. Sorry for the dark mood, everyone.

This is technically original art, for once, but I was inspired by two things. First, I was listening Renji's character songs from Bleach, and even though he's not one of my favorite characters, I feel really bad for him. He's obviously in love with Rukia, and yet it seems he will not or cannot ever face that. And Rukia seems to only see him as family, so keeps him close, but not as a lover. I began to wonder what it would be like if someone like Rukia in this kind of situation tortured the man who loved her intentionally, dangling the possibility of her love in front of his face, acting tender to him, and yet never confronting his feelings; I realized this could really crush a person (in this case, a man like Renji), maybe not just crushing his heart figuratively, but his ability to live with these unrequited feelings.
Sorry everyone, I get carried away. And no, I'm not a Rukia-hater at all.
The second thing that I realize subconsciously inspired this art is a pose in Renji fanart by teh great artist *nyanko-chan , as can be seen here [link] . I didn't mean to copy her pose, but I think it just kind of happened around the profile area... I wasn't even looking at her art at the time... sigh. So I felt she deserved credit for that inspiration.

Overall, this is just a reaction to angst and love. I've been watching too much of it lately. In case you're wondering (and still reading) the hands squeezing the heart of this nameless man are those of his female love (and not his own).

I can't "like" this enough! This is exactly how I feel sometimes. Great work. I've never seen an artwork that I was so connected and articulating emotions so well. Great, great piece!
